The report presented by Telefónica “The Society of the Information in Spain” concludes that it is confirmed that 2015 was a year of accelerated digitalization of Spanish: The Internet continues climbing with one million more Spanish connected regularly than in 2014, which represents almost 80% of the population between 16 and 74 years of age.

However, the use of social networks has decreased 2.4 points down to 67.1%.

Other data highlighted in the study tells us that almost a third of the Spanish population has bought something on the Internet in the last three month and 62% of the users have used the Internet to contact or interact with the Spanish public administration.

Finally, the report shows that the future of the application called the “Internet of Things”, is immediate in all economic sectors and will revolutionize the industrial Internet.

For its part, information will acquire a new dimension of value added to give way to the evolution of Big Data towards Smart Data.
